According to a report from China Times, the iPhone 5 has now entered trial production, and is scheduled for a wide scale release in Q3 of this year. This lines up well with the traditional late June/early July release schedule.

The iPhone 5 is rumored to possess a very similar form factor as to the iPhone 4, but will feature a larger edge-to-edge screen, and a metal chassis, serving to both make the device lighter, as well as to improve antenna sensitivity. The iPhone 5 is also likely to incorporate the same dual-core A5 processor used in the iPad 2.

Let’s just hope that the iPhone 5′s release isn’t as universally terrible and poorly planned as the iPad 2 rollout, eh?
