A recent Consumer Report ranking for laptops puts Apple’s range of Macbooks  top of the heap in every category they’re in.

In the 13″ laptop category Apple hold an impressive five of the top seven spots. The 13″ Macbook Pro led the way with 76 points, with Sony and Asus in second and third respectively.

In the 15″ laptop category Apple took the first three spots.

The report put the 11″ Macbook Air at 62 points out of 100, with a Gateway laptop in second place on 52 points. HP produce the third best laptop with a score of 49.

What about the 17″ category? Yup. Apple took the first two spots there too with scores of 81 and 80.

with thunderbolt? an arrogant option! it will useless since there are no peripheral can be plug in for next 2 years, it will same wid firewire, less option, wont be a popular compare of USB. dont forget! its Intel’s technology – some idiots claims its apple’s innovation, what a moroon :) )

You forget that (at least for now) Apple is transitioning their video-out solution (Mini DisplayPort) to Thunderbolt. So there’s a valid reason for having it.

I just looked at the rankings, and the Samsung 900x3a-a03 is number 1 (78 points) in the 13″ category.  Apple MacBook Air (76 points) is second and Apple MacBook Pro MC700 (72 points- this article says it’s 76 points) is 3rd.  Just thought it was important to make sure the facts are correct.
