Direct2Drive, A Gaming Service, Adds Mac Support

Direct2Drive, A Gaming Service, Adds Mac Support

Any Mac gamer will tell you that the selection of great titles ca, be, well, a bit smarts in a world laden with PC exclusive titles. Today, however, there’s good news, as Direct2Drive has now announced that they will support the Mac gaming community.

In a press release sent out recently, IGN’s Direct2Drive said that they will continue focusing on encouraging Mac gamers through their Mac Monday discount promotion. The release said it will include “top MAC titles” and that they hope to be a “ray of hope into a dark, PC-game filled world.”

Of course, everyone knows that Mac gaming just isn’t as robust (in the developer support and number of titles), but it’s great to see this kind of move – I imaging that the Mac gaming scene is due for some serious action.

With OnLive now available for the Mac, as well as Valve’s support for Steam on the Mac, plus some great games available on the Mac App Store gaining traction, and the release of big titles like StarCraft II becoming available for the Mac, it’s not difficult to imagine a much brighter future for Mac gaming – one that will continue to disrupt the waters of a console and PC-centric gaming environment.
