Apple - OS X Lion - The world’s most advanced desktop operating system.

Ready For This? OS X Lion Could Hit The UK At 1 AM BST Tonight!

We’ve known that OS X Lion was imminent for some time now – Apple’s already given the Golden Master to developers, and many rumors are pegging the release for tomorrow morning. A new report suggests that the UK might be the first to get Lion, with an arrival in the UK at 1 AM British Summer Time.

Further, with the UK being 8 hours ahead of Cupertino, this would place the Cupertino, California release at 5:00 PM the previous day – something that isn’t exactly within my expectations, but wouldn’t prove shocking to me either.

The report also suggests that the current maintenance being done on iTunes Connect is for last-minute preparations leading to Lion’s release. So, there you have it! if this (likely) report is to be believed, Lion is less than 24 hours away. Are you ready? I sure the hell am! Bring it on!

Do you think Apple will have somekind of refund for those who bought a MacBook recently?

I think Apple will offer a download code via the store for valid purchases. That’s what I’ve heard anyway.

That would be great, because I had to buy one yesterday.

If you bought it at an Apple Store they’ll usually let you return it for a refund and buy the new hardware without a restocking fee (but not always).

Apple will be offering an Up-to-Date program that will enable you to get Lion for free if you bought your Mac after June 6, 2011. Read more on that here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/

Hi, I just recently bought my new 15″ macbook Pro and they did told me that we will get Lion for free with a code if you bought it after Jul 6th

If Lion is released at 1:00 AM in the UK, it will be 5:00 PM in Cupertino, not 9:00 AM.

I don’t think it will be simultaneous worldwide, unless it is at an hour that it can be on the 14th for everyone, if it hits UK 1am local time the 14th, that would mean USA time 5pt-8et on the 13th, so i’m guessing for USA 1am pacific time and 4am east time, UK 1am local time, that way apple will have the servers “if possible” less crowed with the more enthusiast poeple not sleeping to get Lion If the release happens at lets say a working hour on USA and by 8-9pm in Europe it could get crazy.

Or it could be 1am Us pacific time and 9am UK local time for a worldwide release..

  • Lion where are you.. ?

blah !!  1am here in the UK…  No Lion
