Following today’s earlier news that Apple has already sold over 500,000 of the new MacBook Airs they just released yesterday, a new report indicates that MacBook Air sales should continue to remain strong, and that Apple may sell up to 15 million total MacBooks by year’s end.
The report cites Apple’s supply chain, and claims that Apple’s MacBook Air sales are expected to remain as strong (in fact, even stronger) than ever. If Apple can maintain their high shipment level for the MacBook Air, Apple could easily significantly outpace previous sales for the unit.
The report also notes that Apple is currently the only vendor that has provided a full forecast of shipments for the first quarter of 2012, as the rest o the IT industry remains cautious and conservative about overall demand in the latter half of 2011.
In their recent quarterly filing, Apple reported shipping 3.95 million Macs, which is a 14% year-over-year increase in Mac sales, and is bring Apple ever closer to the top of the consumer electronics food chain.
