A screenshot found by Sprintfeed within Sprint’s internal systems is showing that Sprint has put a vacation blackout in effect for the first half of October, from September 30th to October 15th, likely in preparation for the iPhone 5.
The memo reads as follows: ”Due to the possibility of a major phone launch in October we are blacking out September 30th through October 15th”. Vacation blackouts are a common practice around major device launches to make sure that retail locations are fully staffed and ready for the increased foot traffic and sales volume.
Numerous reports have suggested that Sprint may be getting the iPhone 5, and since no other significant handsets seem to be slated for release during this time, this all but confirms that Sprint will be offering the iPhone 5 in October. Welcome to the family, Sprint!
