iOS 5.0.1 Already Jailbroken, Less Than 24 Hours After Release

Those of you who updated to iOS 5.0.1 over battery concerns but still want to jailbreak your device need not worry – iOS 5.0.1 can already be jailbroken, thanks to a new version of redsn0w supporting the firmware.

It’s important to note that, as with all previous iOS 5 jailbreaks, this jailbreak is tethered, meaning that you must use redsn0w to boot your device each time it is restarted.

Also, this version still does not support the iPad 2 or the iPhone 4S, but for those of you that want to take advantage of 5.0.1’s new iPad gestures or see if it improves your battery life, you now have an excellent option.

For more information on the jailbreak, including instructions on how to use it, head on over to Redmond Pie.
