Redesigned iPhone 5 Coming Next Fall: Aluminum Back, Rubberized Bezel?

A new report from BRG claims that Apple will be releasing a redesigned iPhone 5 in Fall of 2012. The device will reportedly feature an aluminum back surrounded by a rubberized plastic bezel:

It will join the glass iPhone face with a new aluminum back plate. It will also cover a redesigned antenna system that surrounds the device, allowing Apple to build the rear case out of aluminum without having to use a large plastic insert above the antennas as the company does on its iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G.

The new bezel is reportedly similar to the material used in the current iPhone 4/4S bumper cases, and will be surround the front edge of the device, as well as to join glass iPhone display with the new aluminum back.

The iPhone 5 will also feature a new redesigned antenna system, eliminating the need to include a plastic window as with the 3G iPad and iPad 2 and the original iPhone.

Previous rumors have suggested a “teardrop” shaped aluminum unibody design for the iPhone 5. BGR is “confident” that the iPhone 5 will be released next Fall, around the same time that the iPhone 4S was released this year.

Oh and so the rumours start. Sounds well below apples design concepts if you ask me. Plastic? Who are you kidding.
