How To: Enlarge My App On My iPad?

So you have an iPad and have just downloaded a fun app however it is presented in this little tiny box in the middle of your iPad screen as can be seen above.

If this is the case you have downloaded a version for iPhone/iPod Touch.

Thankfully, you haven’t wasted your time of your money as Apple allows you to upscale the app by simply clicking on the 2x round button at the bottom of the iPad display. The result will look something like this:

You will see when compared to the image above that this image has increased to cover the entire screen of the iPad.

As you may or may not be aware the iPad and iPhone have different screen resolutions meaning that in the upscaling you will see pixelation and the image will be a little blurry compared with the original size or how an iPhone would present the content.

You can of course go back to the original size by clicking the 1x button at the bottom of the display.

The one major disadvantage of 1x for an app on the iPad is all your controls are within that 1x assigned area meaning for games you will be stretching your thumbs to play them.

Please remember to always look for the version which will best suit the device.
