Apple Claimed 80% of Mobile Profits in Q4 2011

Earlier this month, an analyst report stated that the iPhone claimed 75% of all mobile phone profits at the end of 2011. BGR reports that new figures from Morgan analyst Travis McCourt backs up thess numbers, stating that Apple claimed over 80% of all mobile phone profits last quarter, and around 50% of all mobile industry revenues.

Even more interesting, McCourt notes that the mobile industry as a whole would have shrunk 0.4% without Apple, and has grown an impressive 34% when figuring Apple’s revenues into the equation.

Apple recently reported all-time record sales throughout most of their product lines last quarter, including the sales of over 37 million iPhones. Apple’s spectacular earnings were largely due to the extreme popularity of the iPhone 4S announced last October.
