Apple Moves ‘Software Update’ into Mac App Store With OS X Mountain Lion

Apple has changed the way software updates will work in OS X Mountain Lion, removing OS X’s prior ‘Software Update’ feature, and instead integrating all updates into the Mac App Store.

Hitting Software Update in the Apple menu directs you to the Mac App Store, which then checks for downloads and displays them. The above image (click to expand) shows a firmware update for my MacBook Pro appearing through the Mac App Store. Pretty interesting stuff!
