Apple Scrambling to Finalize On-Stage Demos for iPad 3 Event

Apple Scrambling to Finalize On-Stage Demos for iPad 3 Event

Now that we think we know when the iPad 3 announcement will happen (first week of March), a new report from TheNextWeb states that Apple is in “crunch mode,” scrambling to make sure that apps are ready for on-stage demos of the iPad 3, as well as to show off in new advertisements for the next-gen iPad.

Apple typically chooses apps that do a great job of showing off their new devices – those that push the hardware to its limits, or introduce something new or exciting to the platform. Some are speculating that Apple may show off a version of Aperture for the iPad to show off the iPad 3’s supposed Retina display.

Apple’s pre-event weeks are often spent soliciting demonstrations from many app developers and preparing demonstrations of those apps for the live event. Our sources tell us that this selection process is continuing at an increased rate as Apple looks to finalize the lineup for the iPad 3. There is also emphasis on graphics-oriented applications with high-definition assets, which appears to be in line with the new iPad featuring a ‘Retina’ display.

Some of the apps are reportedly also being sent to Apple’s advertising partner to be included in upcoming television ads for the iPad 3. Both the demo selection and ad selection process are nearing their final phases.
