How To: Convert Numerical Instances In The Calculator

Did you know that Apple’s build-in calculator can convert many numerical instances such as $US to $AU?

An example of the options can be seen below and accessed from the Convert menu in the menu bar:

Each of these options when selected will allow the users to put in more specific information. Using the currency example above lets take a look.

Simply enter the value into the calculator your wish to convert. Shown below is an example of this:

Selecting the currency option will present you with the following window:

From this window you are able to change what type of numeric instance you wish to convert. We will stick with currency for this example. Below this option is from US Dollar to Australian Dollar. Clicking on either drop down menu will present you with a list of the current world wide currency options.

You will notice that under this option reads the text of the last time it was updated. Please note that the conversion rate is not updated upon launch and to get a relatively up to date result you will need to press the update button found in the bottom left hand corner.

When ready simply press the convert key and the answer will be displayed on your calculator as shown below:

Once you have a conversion in place you can use the same settings again all you need to do is enter the value you wish to convert then navigate to Convert > Recent Conversions > US Dollar to Australian Dollar from the Menu Bar as shown below:

Upon selecting this option your value entered into the calculator will be instantly updated to reflect the correct result.
