Steve Jobs’ Entire Life Mapped as Facebook Timeline

Among the many interesting tributes to Steve Jobs since his passing on October 5th, perhaps the most interesting I’ve seen yet is a new Facebook timeline set up on his behalf (pointed out by Gizmodo), documenting Jobs’ entire life year-by-year since birth.

It’s a pretty fascinating (and somewhat emotional) experience to walk through Steve’s life all on one page, and tons of photographs and tidbits are provided. The timeline can give you a general picture of his life much more quickly than sifting through his official biography, or the many books professing to provide a glimpse into his life.

It’s a pretty great idea, and I’m glad that Facebook is allowing it to stay up (for now – no word on whether Apple is aware of or approves of this). If you’d like to see this, check out the timeline for yourself on Facebook.

Perhaps Facebook should start officially endorsing timelines for notable historical figures or celebrities – would be an interesting move for them!

Update: The Timeline has now been removed. Sorry for those who didn’t get to see it!
