Apple has announced that they will hold an early morning conference call on Monday, March 16th at 6 AM PDT/9 AM EDT to discuss what they plan to do with their nearly $100 billion in reserve cash – a topic which has been the source of a great deal of speculation.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, and Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s CFO, will host a conference call to announce the outcome of the Company’s discussions concerning its cash balance. Apple® will not be providing an update on the current quarter nor will any topics be discussed other than cash.

Apple will provide live audio streaming of its conference call using Apple’s industry-leading QuickTime® multimedia software. The live webcast will begin at 6:00 a.m. PDT on March 19, 2012 at www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/call31912.

During Apple’s Q1 2012 financial conference call, Apple revealed that they had a massive $96.7 billion in cash and securities, and CEO Tim Cook stated that Apple was actively discussing how they would use that cash balance.

Many have speculated that Apple may finally issue a significant dividend to their investors. Others speculate that Apple may be preparing to announce a major acquisition, or plans to enter and invest significantly in another major industry.

We’ll be providing updates as we hear them, so make sure to stay tuned tomorrow morning to find out what Apple decides to announce!
