Amazon Releases Cloud Drive App for Mac & PC

Amazon has just launched a desktop app for their Cloud Drive service, reports TheNextWeb. The service was unveiled last year. but those wishing to use the service on their desktop previously had to use a browser or a mobile app to access files.

The service is similar to Dropbox and Google Drive,  allowing users to store and access files on portable devices through apps, through a web app, and now natively on Mac and Windows (including support for drag-and-drop and a dedicatee drop folder), and includes 5GB of free storage. Additional storage plans are also available, starting at 20GB, and ranging all the way up to a full terabyte. Paid, plans also include unlimited storage space for music.

Unfortunately, while apps can be added or removed from the service, Cloud Drive still lacks syncing, so if you access and save changes to a file, those changes won’t sync to all of your devices. The new desktop app is available immediately as a free download from Amazon’s website.
