‘Leaked’ Schematic Shows Front Panel of Next-Gen iPhone

We’ve seen a lot of seemingly credible information about Apple’s next-gen iPhone recently, but a new report that surfaced this morning just might be the cherry on the iPhone rumor cake! J

What’s especially interesting about the leaked schematic is that it matches up very nicely with yesterday’s part leaks, showing a slightly taller appearance (likely to accomodate a 4-inch screen), a relocated FaceTime camera, and a number of measurements for key portions of the panel.

While iLab’s version of the schematic has a number of parts blurred out, MacRumors has managed to get their hands on a completely clear and crisp version of the schematic from a separate source, which may suggest that it’s more than just a cleverly crafted hoax.

There’s still reason to be skeptical of “leaks” like this, but it’s interesting that so many different rumors about Apple’s next iPhone all seem to agree on many important details!

Very cool if true, but the problem is, in this day you can mock up anything.  Anyone with CAD software could draw up a schematic and add Apple’s name to it.  Same with the leaked parts, could have been a custom fab job.  Now Gizmodo getting their hands on a prototype and Apple getting the San Fran gestapo after them, that was definitely juice.

What I do know is that from what I’ve read, Steve had his hand in and was heavily involved with the 5, as well as the upcoming Apple television set integrated with AppleTV.  Both Sir Johnny Ive and Tim Cook have confirmed that what they are currently involved with, is in fact the biggest and best thing they’ve worked on.  Normally you do not hear reactions like this from the developers during the process, so that is exciting.  I personally have been chompin at the bit for a 4″ iPhone screen and a 7-8″ iPad.

Great, looks like when I upgrade, my collection of iPod and iPhone USB cords and chargers will be obsolete–Thanks again Apple!
