Apple Releases Software and Trackpad Updates for 2012 MacBook Pros

Apple Releases Software and Trackpad Updates for 2012 MacBook Pros

The new MacBook Pros are just a day old, yet they’ve already got their first updates waiting for them: Software Update 1 for the non-Retina mid-2012 MacBook Pro, and Trackpad Update 1.0 for the Retina MacBook Pro.

About MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) Software Update 1.0

This update is recommended for MacBook Pro (mid 2012) models.

The update includes fixes that improve graphics stability, external display support, and USB 3 device support.

MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) Software Update 1.0 comes in at a rather hefty 1.06GB, and is available immediately directly from Apple, or through Software Update on eligible Macs.

About MacBook Pro (Retina) Trackpad Update 1.0

This update addresses an issue where the trackpad may not respond consistently to user input, and is recommended for all MacBook Pro with Retina display notebooks.

The updater will install in the Applications/Utilities folder and will launch automatically.  Follow the instructions to complete the process.

Your computer’s power cord must be connected and plugged into a working power source when running the update.

The MacBook Pro (Retina) Trackpad Update 1.0 is a bit smaller, coming in at just 1.26MB, and is also available immediately directly from Apple, or through Software Update on eligible Macs.

Does it seem a bit strange to anyone else that Apple is already updating Macs they just barely released?
