The Indonesia facility will create approximately one million new jobs in the region where the average monthly wage is a hundred bucks a month…

The company says it is attracted to Indonesia due to its high rate of economic growth, currently 6 percent a year. It also noted that the region is in need of jobs, giving it a large workforce to pick from.

“We are looking forward to establish a new manufacturing plant in Indonesia, although nothing is finalized yet,” said Foxconn in a statement issued to the media, This will help us in manufacturing good quality products and make them available in the markets at lower prices.” The statement went on to say, “With this, Indonesians will also get better employment opportunities. We will continue our efforts in establishing more manufacturing plants across the globe.”

Although Apple is never mentioned in the statement, it is widely assumed the new plant will be used to help meet the rising demand for Apple’s mobile devices.
