Sprint Confirms They Will NOT Charge Extra for FaceTime Over Cellular

Following comments earlier this week suggesting that AT&T is at least considering charging their customers extra to use FaceTime over cellular, Sprint has taken the opportunity to state for the record that they are NOT planning to charge, and that their customers will be able to use the service for free.

The Wall Street Journal reports (via MacRumors):

Sprint Nextel Corp., which still offers unlimited data to new and existing users on its network, said it has no plans to erect pricing barriers to FaceTime.

“We are committed to our unlimited data and that means not charging for data consumption based on the application,” a spokeswoman said.

Meanwhile, Verizon refuses to address the matter, saying that any discussion about the topic is premature. See AT&T? It’s really not that hard – either be forthcoming about doing the right thing, or keep your mouth shut! Simple!
