How to: Understand And Use The Blue Dots In iTunes

If you have ever used iTunes to playback and manage content, you would have noticed you get the blue dots as shown in the image above. But what do these mean?

When you see the full coloured dot this means you have yet to begin playing your content for the first time.

The half full dot means that you have started to play the content but have yet to finish playing back the content.

When no dot is present this means that you have completed playing the content.

Please note the half dot will remain until the very end of the content has been reached. For example: If you stop video content at the credits, then it will still appear as a half dot as iTunes assumes you have not completed watching the content.
