The fine folks at Boinx just announced the release of iStopMotion 3 for Mac. The stop motion animation app now offers the ability to use your iPhone or iPad as a remote camera for the app. it’s available now in the App Store for a limited time price of $29.99.

The price of iStopMotion 3 for Mac will return to its regular price of $49.99 after the limited time offer has expired. That’s still a huge drop from the price tag of $499.99 that was on iStopMotion 2 Pro.

That lower price doesn’t mean that iStopMotion 3 has fewer features; in fact it actually has all of the capabilities of the previous version plus a bunch of new ones. The app has a new look and support for Retina displays, integration with Final Cut Pro X, and is compatible with OS X Mountain Lion.

To use your iPad or iPhone as a remote camera, simply download the free iStopMotion Remote Camera app from the App Store.

Be sure to check out the app while it’s on sale, it’s available now in the Mac App Store. You can check out the iStopMotion 3 for Mac press release at the Boinx website.
