Father of the iPod, Tony Fadell: Scott Forstall Got What He Deserved

Strong words. Tony Fadell, often credited as the father of the iPod, spoke out today against Scott Forstall in an interview with the BBC, stating that he ‘got what he deserved’ and that Cupertino was ‘cheering’ when it heard the news.

Above all this confirms that he was indeed fired and he didn’t resign, as well as the fact he was public enemy number one at Apple.

Fadell was coy in answering, refusing to give details:

Scott got what he deserved. I think what happened just a few weeks back was deserved and justified and it happened. If you read some of the reports, people were cheering in Cupertino when that event happened.

Fadell is currently running his tech startup Nest, which makes an high tech thermometer which you can control from your iPhone. It’s pretty cool, I’d recommend checking it out.

Coming back to Forstall though, you never know what the future holds. History could repeat itself. CEO of Apple in 2025? Very unlikely, but you never know…
