How to Raise or Lower Siri’s Volume on Your iPhone or iPad

Posted in How To, iOS on 13/11/2012 by J. Glenn Künzler

While Siri is a useful feature, activating Siri can make a lot of noise on your iOS device. By default, Siri’s tones are played back at a set volume which can’t be turned down through Settings. Fortunately, there is an easy way to hush Siri up, or even mute Siri’s sounds.

To adjust the playback volume, just activate Siri on your iOS device, and press your device’s volume keys while Siri is still active. You can now set her as soft or as loud as you like! Sometimes you just want Siri to shut up – and now you can make it happen!

How do you mute just the beep? I often inadvertently activate Siri while reading in bed. The beep is insanely loud in a quite room. I’d like to kill the beep all together.

when I tried this it just turns the volume down really low- it doesn’t actually let me mute it completely.
