iPad mini Quickly Sells Out at Apple Stores Worldwide

iPad mini Quickly Sells Out at Apple Stores Worldwide

Although lines appeared shorter than usual for the iPad mini launch at many Apple Stores, the device nevertheless is selling out at a remarkable pace. According to Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White, the device sold out in just two hours in Apple’s flagship 5th Avenue, NY store.

 MacRumors reports:

Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White is also at the Fifth Avenue store and has been monitoring availability of the various models. According to White, all three models of the white Wi-Fi iPad mini sold out in a little over an hour, with the black models following suit after about two hours. No additional shipments are expected at the store today.

Aside from the 5th Avenue store, 9to5Mac reports that numerous other Apple Stores in the U.S., Canada, and Singapore also sold out of stock rather quickly. Keep in mind, this is only for the WiFi version of the device, as 4G LTE versions are not yet available at all from retail stores.

The impressive collection of tweets below, originating from various Apple Stores (collected by 9to5Mac), tells the story quite nicely – people flew to Apple Stores to buy iPad minis. Apparently Apple’s “underpowered” and “overpriced” iPad mini wasn’t such a “disappointment” after all!
