Apple Launches iTunes Movie Sales and Rentals in 42 Additional Countries

Following the launch of the iTunes Music Store in 56 new countries earlier this month (almost doubling the total number of countries with iTunes Store acces), Apple has now launched iTunes Movie sales and rentals in 42 of those countries.

According to a list posted on AppleInsider, the 42 countries where movies are now available are as follows:

Europe: Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine

Africa, the Middle East and India: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Botswana, Cape Verde, Egypt, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, India, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Swaziland, United Arab Emirates, Uganda and Zimbabwe

Asia Pacific: Indonesia, Micronesia, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan

Latin America and the Caribbean: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago

It’s unclear when the remainder of those countries will gain access to movie content through iTunes – and considering that the delay likely revolves around licensing with movie studios, it could happen any time now – or not for years (or ever!)
