Cydia is Running on Over 22 Million iOS Devices

TechCrunch has published an interesting article, entitled “Behind The Scenes of The iPhone 5 Jailbreak.” The post takes a look at all of the various jailbreaks that have been released over the years, and the work currently being done.

While the report doesn’t offer any new information regarding the progress of the iOS 6 JB, it does have a couple of interesting tidbits sprinkled throughout its contents. One of them, for example, is the number of devices that are currently running Cydia…

The above chart comes from Cydia creator Jay Freeman, better known as Saurik. The chart shows the percentage of each iOS device running Cydia during the past two months.

The total number of iOS devices running Cydia comes out to 22,780,029.

As you can see, the iPhone 4 is the most popular, which makes sense, as it’s currently offered for free by the carriers, and it’s the last iPhone that is able to have a jailbreak performed on it under iOS 6.

Are you running Cydia on your iOS device? What device is it? Is it running iOS 6? Please share your info in the comments section below.
