Microsoft Issues Security Updates for Office for Mac 2008 and 2011

Microsoft released a pair of updates today for its Office for Mac suites – both Office for Mac 2008, and Office for Mac 2011. The updates address “critical security issues” within the suites, and also improve security overall. Notably, it even includes a fix for a particularly nasty bug that could allow an attacker to overwrite files on your Mac.

Office 2008 for Mac 12.3.6 Update

This update fixes critical issues and also helps to improve security. It includes fixes for vulnerabilities that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer’s memory with malicious code. For more information about this update, please visit the Microsoft Web site.

Office for Mac 2011 14.3.2 Update

This update fixes critical issues and also helps to improve security. It includes fixes for vulnerabilities that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer’s memory with malicious code. For more information about this update, please visit the Microsoft Web site.
