While the official release of BlackBerry Messenger for iOS and Android is set for sometime around the end of summer, apparently someone at Blackberry got a little excited by it all and prematurely posted some materials online, including the Android and iOS user guides for BBM.

BBM for Android and iOS will allow you the ability to send text messages, location, photos and voice messages (though without being able to carry out normal conversation), changes in the status and profile picture, setting up and join the BBM groups (limited to 30 people) and inviting and being invited to speak on the basis of our e-mail address associated with BBM, number or generated QR code.

We have no way of knowing if this was a genuine faux pas, or if it was an attempt at getting some free publicity, (“Well played BlackBerry,” said in my best Peter Griffin voice), but it looks like BlackBerry has taken the files down.
