As we reported would happen last month, Steve Jobs has just been honored with the Disney Legends award. The award is an honor bestowed on individuals who have made notable contributions to Disney, and Jobs was honored for his key role in transforming Pixar into one of the foremost digital animation studios. Pixar was eventually sold to Disney as a result. Jobs was also honored for his work on Disney’s corporate board of directors.
The award was accepted in proxy by John Lasseter, one of Pixar’s co-founders, and a man who had the opportunity to work closely with Jobs at Pixar. The entire emotional speech can be seen below.
