Apple’s Asian Online Stores Go Dark Ahead of the iPhone 5S Launch

Apple’s Asian Online Stores Go Dark Ahead of the iPhone 5S Launch

Hear that rumble coming from the far east? That’s the sound of Apple shuttering it’s online stores in the Asian markets in preparation for the launch of online ordering for the iPhone 5s.

MacRumors:

Unlike with the iPhone 5c pre-order launch last week which took place at a uniform 12:01 AM Pacific Time, the iPhone 5s online order launches are staggered around the world in order to accommodate the in-store launches happening in many of the same countries at 8:00 AM local time.

The first online orders should be going live very shortly in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, as Apple had notified its Australian customers that orders would begin at 2:01AM Australian Easter Standard time.

Customers in other markets should start getting their rest, as similar overnight launches will take place there, with Apple telling UK customers their order window would open at 12:01AM British Summer Time, and U.S. customers should be prepared for a go at 12:01AM Pacific Time. (3:01AM Eastern Time.)

“British Summer Time.” That sounds so much nicer than “Easter Standard Time.” SIGH!
