7 Spooky iOS Apps for Halloween

It’s that time of year again, when darkness falls across the land, the midnight hour is close at hand, creatures crawl in search of blood… Sorry, the ghost of Vincent Price possesses me from time to time. What I meant to say was, it’s Halloween time again! Time for our annual look at fun and scary iOS apps for Halloween!

Halloween-Pumpkins

spider_prink_iconSpider Prank

FREE for a limited time, Spider Prank allows you to set a timer and hand off your iPhone to your friends to play with. At the set time, a giant spider will appear on your iPhone’s screen, spooking your arachnophobic friends!

You can use your own photos as the background, (I like to take a screenshot of an app or my Home Screen, then ask someone to see if they can figure out why my iPhone has frozen up…) The spider also reacts to gravity, and you can drag, tap, and shake the spider. Fun for the whole family!

Spider Prank FREE for a limited time, it’s normally priced at $0.99

Home_iconHome – A Unique Horror Adventure

This horror adventure is set in a pixelized world. In this murder mystery, YOU decide what ultimately happens.

“Awakened by an oncoming storm, you open your eyes to discover yourself in a strange, dark room—tucked away in a house that’s not yours.”

As you play the game, it changes to reflect your perspective. In this horror game, truths are entirely subjective!

Plants vs. Zombies 2

If you’re not a vampire fan, there are always the zombies to play with!

This sequel to the hit action-strategy adventure game leads you on an adventure where you’ll battle zombies from the dawn of time to the end of days. (There are some movie titles in there somewhere…) Amass your army of super plants, energize them with plant food, and unleash them! Oh yeah, and protect your brain!

New plants and new zombies abound, so get your zombie-zapping skills ready and zap them before they get to the Sprint phone store! (Wait, is that right?)

Oh, and if you’re not convinced yet, I have two words for you: “Zombie Chickens.” NUFF SAID!

Limbo-Game-iconLIMBO Game

Uncertain of his sister’s fate, a boy enters LIMBO.

Guide this unnamed boy through dangerous environments and traps as he searches for his lost sister.

The game is presented in black and white, which only adds to the horror. The horror genre is well represented in this game, with film grain effects, lighting, and ambient sounds all adding to the mood.

Good luck finding his sister. Perhaps you should concentrate on staying alive first?

$1.99 – Available for the iPhone and iPad in the App Store [DIRECT LINK]

While the above games and gimmicks are all well and good for older trick or treaters, what about the smallest ghouls in your haunted house? Don’t worry, we would never forget them!
