Apple Has a Fix in The Works for iOS 7 Home Screen and App Crashes

Raise your hand if your iPhone has been randomly rebooting at least once a week since you updated to iOS 7. (Yup! Right here…) Well, there’s good news for users like us, as Apple reportedly has a fix in the works.

MacRumors:

“We have a fix in an upcoming software update for a bug that can occasionally cause a home screen crash,” Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller told Mashable.

Threads on both the MacRumors forums and Apple’s own Support Communities. Depending on the color of the iPhone, the device’s screen will go either black or white for a short time, and then it reboots. This problem has been reported on all model iPhones running iOS7.

It is not known if the fix will be released as a smaller iOS 7.0.5 update, or be bundled as part of iOS 7.1, currently in its fourth round of beta testing. Developers received Beta 4 of iOS 7.1 on Monday, but a date for the release of the updated mobile operating system hasn’t been officially announced.
