‘DuMont Project’ iPad Case Turns The iPad Into a Retro Television Set

While we all wait (not so) patiently for an Apple television set, craftsman Jeffrey Stephenson gives us a peek at the retro television that never was via his beautiful wooden iPad case.

His recently completed DuMont project turns an iPad mini, a Jawbone Jambox and a heap of wood into a tiny 1950s TV set, complete with a woven speaker grille; the owner just has to slot devices into the enclosure’s side to indulge in some nostalgic viewing.

Stephenson has a true knack for giving electronics an elegant retro vibe.

While he isn’t selling this case, Stephenson is taking inquiries from interested parties. If you’d like to see how he did it, visit Bit-Tech‘s forums to check out the project work log.

Editor’s Note – The DuMont Network was a television network that existed at the dawn of television. The network aired shows from August 15, 1946 to August 6, 1956.
