“It’s time to explore the Pebble appstore.” With those words, smartwatch maker Pebble has opened its long-anticipated appstore – The very first open platform for sharing apps optimized for wearables.

We’re extremely proud to announce that the Pebble appstore is now live with over 1000 apps and watchfaces. The appstore is built into the Pebble app on your iOS or Android device, and lets you find, browse and download Pebble apps and watchfaces directly from your smartphone.
The Pebble appstore was first announced in January at CES 2014.
While some great apps and watchfaces were already available for the Pebble, the resources were scattered around the Internet. And, while a treasure hunt can be enjoyable, Pebble’s new appstore promises to become a one-stop shop for Pebble apps and watchfaces, much as Apple’s iOS App Store is for our favorite devices.
The appstore features separate areas for apps and watchfaces, with six app categories: Daily, Tools & Utilities, Notifications, Remotes, Fitness, and Games.
Pebble says the updated app for iOS – which includes the Pebble appstore – is now available for download in the iTunes Store. The company promises the Android app is on the way, as it is currently receiving some “fine tuning.”
