New Upper East Side NYC Apple Store to Have Flagship Store Pizzaz

The old bank building on Madison Avenue in New York City that Apple acquired as a site for a new Manhattan Apple Store looks like it will receive that special flagship store touch.

ifo Apple Store reports that the building permits for the development are in the name of architects Bohlin Cywinsky Jackson and engineering firm Eckersley O’Callaghan, the two firms credited with the Apple Stores at 5th Avenue, Shanghai and London’s Regent Street.

It is believed that the current windows in the building will be replaced with large sheets of glass, much the same style as London’s Regent Street Apple Store, seen below.

Initial permits that cover the demolition of the interior of the site suggest that only the exterior walls and marble flooring will remain when the project is finished.
