New Video Claims to Show Untethered iOS 7.1.1 Jailbreak

New Video Claims to Show Untethered iOS 7.1.1 Jailbreak

A few days ago, Stefan Esser, better known as  i0n1c among jailbreakers, revealed he had successfully performed an untethered jailbreak on his iPhone 5c running iOS 7.1.1. Now he’s showing off his feat, posting a video showing his device running Cydia on iOS 7.1.1, both before and after the device is turned off, and then back on.

Redmond Pie:

i0n1c’s revelation over the weekend served as the latest in a line of encouraging post-iOS 7.1 jailbreak progress.

In the video above, you see the iPhone 5c run through the Settings to reveal the version number, fire up Cydia, and then finally reboot, to prove its untethered nature.

No idea on when this jailbreak might hit the streets, but with iOS 8 looming in the distance, jailbreakers are bound to turn their efforts toward the new iOS version just as soon as is possible.
