Apple Expands iPhone Trade-In Program to Italy – Coming Soon to Australia

Apple has expanded its Apple Store iPhone “reuse and recycle” trade-in program to a new market: Italy. The Italy Apple Store listings in the official Apple Store app indicate that Apple is offering up to €220, (roughly $300 USD), for the trade-in of older model iPhones.

9to5Mac reports that one of their sources tells them that Apple is also planning to rollout the same program in Australia as soon as this upcoming week. Apple is said to have been training employees in Australia on the program over the course of the last several days.

The Apple trade-in program allows owners of any iPhone models (iPhone 3G and up) to bring in the device and trade it in for a gift card to use toward the purchase of a new iPhone.

The trade-in program first launched in the U.S. last year, and it has since also expanded to Spain, the U.K, Germany, Canada, and  France. Apple has also begun an iPad version of the program for the above regions, but Apple has not yet commented on an iPad program for Italy.
