Certification tests for both models of the handset were said to have taken place last week, with mass production reportedly kicking off this week.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 6 on September 9. The 4.7-inch model of the device will likely launch a little over a week later, while the much-rumored larger 5.5-inch model may possibly launch later this year, or early 2015.

The new iPhones are expected to include a fast A8 processor, a thinner more rounded body, and improved cameras on both models.
