MacRumors:

Apple is reportedly working with Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory to produce a small number of units to ensure quality control standards have been implemented, as the device will then be mass produced at Apple’s various supply partners.

Previous reports claimed that mass production of the iPhone 6 had already begun. It is possible however, that reported production issues have led to the delayed testing phase. The reports did not indicate if the final testing stage is for both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models, as Apple has been reported to be experiencing issues with the latter devices sapphire display, and with its battery life.

Apple is expected to debut its new flagship handset(s) on September 9th, with a launch expected soon after. In addition to larger screens, the devices are expected to boast a faster A8 processor, improved cameras, and better battery life.
