Devs Get OS X Yosemite Golden Master Candidate From Apple (Updated)

Apple has released a golden master candidate version of OS X Yosemite to developers. The release come just a bit over two weeks after the release of Developer Preview Eight. The new seed can be downloaded by developers in the Mac App Store, or via Apple’s Mac Developer Center.

The current build may or may not prove to be the release version of OS X Yosemite, however the “Golden Master” candidacy of the release certainly indicates Apple believes it is very close to having a release version of the Mac operating system ready for public consumption.

Last year saw Apple release a golden master build of OS X Mavericks to developers on October 3, then releasing a second golden master version just a few weeks later, just ahead of the public release on October 22.

UPDATE – MacRumors is reporting that Apple has also released a fourth public beta of OS X Yosemite, with a slightly different build number of 14A379b. Also, both the Golden Master candidate and public beta releases include the “Shellshock” fix Apple released yesterday for OS X Mavericks, Mountain Lion, and Lion.
