No Band Swapping Allowed During Apple Watch ‘Try It’ Appointments

While the Apple Watch will be available for appointment only try-on sessions starting on April 10th, don’t expect to be able to mix and match watch and band options while you’re there.

Apple specifically states that they “will not size links or swap bands” at the Try-on table or Try-on cases. Try-on appointments for non-Edition Apple Watches are meant to last only 5-15 minutes. Apple will have 18 specific Apple Watch combinations on display at their Try-On tables and 10 specific combinations at their Try-On cases.

Apple’s policy is obviously in the interest of time and simplicity. MacRumors also notes that in the Apple documents they viewed, Apple specifically states that they “will not size links or swap bands” at the Try-on table or Try-on cases.

Some observers fear that the potential for mixing and matching among the Watch and its available bands, such as an aluminum Apple Watch Sport and a stainless steel Watch band, could yield combinations that may not look good together.

Apple will reportedly have 18 Apple Watch combinations available at the Try-On tables, and 10 combinations at their Try-On cases. Hopefully, that will be enough to give customers a good idea of what various combinations look like.

Apple Watch pre-sales and appointments kickoff April 10th with the Apple Watch being made officially available for sale on April 24th.
