Since the 18 karat rose gold Apple Watch Edition starts at $10,000, it should come as a surprise to no one that some companies are offering a service to gold-plate your stainless steel Watch.
First, Watch Plate offers to gold plate your own Apple Watch for $399. The process is relatively simple. You simply FedEx them your stainless steel Apple Watch and they will gold plate the device and ship it back to you, all within 3 business days. Watch Plate will even email you a FedEx label to make the shipment process as simple as possible.
Watch Plate says it is using 24 karat rose gold or 24 karat yellow gold for its process.
Another firm, Golden Dreams, will soon offer gold-plated Apple Watch models in 24 karat yellow gold, 18 karat rose gold, and 18 karat white gold for $4,200. The watches are custom made in Geneva, and they’ll ship anywhere in a “high-end luxury box.” The company will also offer engraving, over 160 different colored Alligator leather straps.
While Watch Plate requires you to first get your hands on an Apple Watch and then ship it to them, Golden Dreams takes care of obtaining the Apple Watch, and will ship it to you after the process is complete.
