Rumors: Apple Watch on Sale in Austria, Denmark, and India by End of September

Apple is expected to spend some time at their upcoming September 9th media event talking about watchOS 2, and new rumors indicate they might also have some announcements about expanding sales of their Apple Watch to Austria, Denmark, India and possibly other countries later this month.

Rumors: Apple Watch on Sale in Austria, Denmark, and India by End of September

MacRumors:

Austrian website MacMania claims that the Apple Watch will be available in Austria starting September 15, citing information it received over Facebook Messenger from a reputable source working for an undisclosed large electronics chain in the country. Apple does not have an official retail presence in Denmark.

In addition to that report, Denmark’s largest bank, Danske Bank, recently issued a press release stating that its MobilePay service will support the Apple Watch when the device launches in Denmark next month. However, they have since backpedaled and now merely cite “rumors” about a September release.

Danske Bank has a large presence in Denmark, Finland and Norway, three countries where the Apple Watch is slated to launch before the end of the year, according to Apple’s website.

Another report indicates the Apple Watch will launch in India in September. iGyaan claims the Watch will launch then, with a price of Rs. 24,999 for the entry-level Apple Watch Sport.

Countries where the Apple Watch will be “available in 2015” are: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, India, Malaysia, Norway, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The Watch is currently available in 22 countries, including: Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, U.K., U.S., Italy, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Sweden, Thailand, New Zealand, Russia, and Turkey.
