Fourth-Generation Apple TV Orders Begin Shipping for October 30th Delivery

Apple has begun notifying customers who have ordered the new Apple TV that their orders have shipped. MacRumors reports that word is coming in from Australia that customers are receiving emails that give a Friday, October 30 date for delivery. Shipment notifications for other should be rolling out in the coming hours.

Apple began accepting orders for their fourth-generation set top box on Monday, with the earliest quoted delivery date being Friday, October 30. The device is also expected to be available in-store at Apple’s own retail stores that same day.

The new Apple TV are available in 32GB and 64GB storage configurations, and costs $149 and $199, respectively. The new box sports a faster A8 processor, a touch-based motion-sensing remote, Siri control with Universal Search, and a new operating system called tvOS, which brings a much longed for App Store to Apple’s little black box.

In addition to ordering or picking up the Apple TV from Apple, buyers can alsopre-order from Best Buy, B&H, and other retailers. Best Buy is offering both models, with in-store availability expected for November 4th.
