Apple Offers Personal Pickup Service in Six Additional European Countries

Apple on Tuesday expanded its popular Personal Pickup service to France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Sweden. The service allows customers to order Apple products online, and then pick them up in a nearby Apple Retail location, usually within an hour.

MacRumors:

The launch of Personal Pickup in Germany was first noted by Macerkopf, and MacRumors subsequently confirmed the wider European expansion of the service.

Apple offers the Personal Pickup option for a number of its products, including iPhone, iPads, Mac, Apple TVs and the Apple Watch. Once the items are ordered, Apple notifies the customer via email or text message when the order is ready for pickup. Customers must supply a valid photo ID in order to claim the order.

Personal Pickup has been available to customers in the United States since 2011, but was unavailable to customers in other countries until last month, when the service first expanded to Australia and Canada, soon to be followed by the United Kingdom.

While a number of countries still don’t have an option for the service, Apple is apparently slowly rolling it out around the globe. Countries still without Personal Pickup include: Belgium, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
