Good news for iPad Pro users who had a problem with their new über tablets becoming unresponsive after charging. Apple has confirmed that updating the device to iOS 9.2 should prevent that from happening.

Some early iPad Pro owners had complained their new 12.9-inch tablet became unresponsive after charging. A hard reset, (holding Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo), resolved the issue, at least temporarily.

Apple had acknowledged the issue on its support website, and said it was “investigating” the issue. That same support document has now been updated to include the following:

Updating your iPad Pro to iOS 9.2 or later might prevent this issue from occurring in the future.

The issue affected all iPad Pro models running iOS 9.1, including both Wi-Fi only, and Wi-Fi + cellular models.

Apple released iOS 9.2 on Tuesday, as part of a busy release day that also included releases of OS X 10.11.2, tvOS 9.1, and watchOS 2.1.
