Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2016 is set to kickoff on June 13, and as usual, the company has dusted off their WWDC iOS app and given it a bit of a remodel. The app, which offers live streaming support from the event, also adds a new version, designed for the fourth-generation Apple TV.
Features of the app include:
- Watch live streamed sessions on iOS and tvOS.
- Stream or download WWDC videos from this year and previous years.
- Start watching on one iOS device, and pick up where you left off on another iOS device or on the new Apple TV.
- Browse times, locations, and descriptions for sessions, labs, and special events.
- Mark schedule items as favorites.
- Keep up with the latest news, get important notifications, and see new photos throughout each day.
- View accessible maps to find your way around Moscone West.
- Provide feedback on content and speakers for each session.
- Add your pass to Wallet for faster check-in at WWDC.
What’s New in Version 5.0
A tvOS version of this app is now available, so you can stream and download videos from WWDC 2016 and previous conferences on Apple TV. This update supports live streaming on iOS and tvOS. It also supports multitasking on iOS 9 on iPad.
The WWDC app can be used by both developers who were lucky enough to score a ticket to the bash, and those who had to stay home this year. The app offers tools for viewing scheduled times for labs, sessions, events, and more, as well as offering live streaming of sessions with Apple engineers.
WWDC 2016 will kickoff on June 13 at 10:00AM Pacific Time with a Keynote to be held at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Apple will likely live stream the keynote on both its website and on the Apple TV, and MacTrast will cover the Keynote live, and share all the highlights with you afterwards.
