‘Reliable Chinese Supplier’ Says Apple Will Soon Debut a New MacBook Air

Japanese blog Macotakara claims a ‘reliable Chinese supplier’ has told them that Apple will announce a new MacBook Air later this month, which will go on sale in August.

'Reliable Chinese Supplier' Says Apple Will Soon Debut a New MacBook Air

It’s probably not best to get too excited about the report, as a number of sources, including the well-connected Mark Gurman say there will be no new hardware announced at WWWDC. Plus, if there were to be a significant hardware release coming soon, it would be odd for Apple not to unveil it at the Developers conference.

The Macotakara report also suggests a new MacBook Pro will be announced at the same time, although the usually reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested a Pro revamp will have to wait until the fourth quarter.

If such a MacBook Air refresh did occur, it would likely be a minor one, likely announced via an Apple press release, and not a WWDC unveiling.
