New images and video posted to Chinese microblogging site Weibo (via NWE) over the weekend show a side-by-side comparison of an alleged iPhone 7 casing, alongside Apple’s current iPhone 6s flagship handset.

While the authenticity of the “iPhone 7” unit in the video and photos cannot be confirmed, it does match the Space Grey coloring of the iPhone 6s, and sports the repositioned antenna bands and larger camera that have been seen in previously leaked images. The video clearly shows the lack of a headphone jack, with a second speaker grille in place of the port.

The size of the camera opening appears to be about 25% larger than that of the iPhone 6s, suggesting that significant upgrades to the camera are on the way.

If the new iPhone does get rid of the headphone jack, it could allow Apple to include a second speaker, as well as offering more space for redesigned internals, featuring a possibly slightly larger battery to offer a bit of extended battery life for the new units.

The iPhone 7 is expected to feature an A10 processor, possibly with 3GB of RAM, and increased internal storage – replacing the 16GB base model with 32GB of storage – which will be sure to be welcome news to buyers of the base model. Apple is expected to debut the new lineup of iPhones sometime in September.
